Equipment

  • Stovetop

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp ginger peeled and sliced
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  • Take a sauce pot or glass pot and boil the water.
  • When the water boils, add the fennel seeds, cumin seeds, and ginger slices.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes and then strain the tea into a cup. Add honey if you like, to sweeten the tea naturally.

Notes

  1. Teas and tisanes need time for the ingredients to steep in the water. Therefore, boiling the water prior to adding all the ingredients helps.
  2. Fennel tisane tastes refreshing by itself; adding honey is merely optional.
  3. A glass pot works well for making tisanes.
  4. Ginger must be either the fresh one or the dried ginger which is fresh. Fresh ginger are available at the Ranch 99 market.
